Rankin was one of the comeback wrestlers of the year at the Shore. After missing almost all of last season to injury, Rankin returned for his senior season to win 24 matches, and was one of two Griffins to win a District Title this season. A State Qualifier in 2018, Rankin closes his high school career with 86 victories, and was a 3-time District Medalist for DC.

Down Low (106-132): The lowerweights get a huge boost with the return of senior Cael Rankin, who missed almost all of last season with an injury. Rankin was coming off a 2018 in which he won 31 bouts and advanced to Atlantic City after placing 2nd in the District and 4th in the Region. Also back down low for the Griffins is junior Nicholas DiGiantomasso, who is coming off a 24-win sophomore season. Sophomores Joseph Benesch and Pet Dellane showed some potential as freshmen in the lineup last season and are looking to build off that this year.

In The Middle (138-160): Some solid talent returns in the middle for the Griffins. Senior Jacob Maroukis won 29 matches last year, and was a District runner-up. Christopher Gallegos went 16-4 last season, while Dominic Tangredi was 13-3. Both should be in line for big seasons. Sophomores Gaige Rebmann and Noah Bakos and junior Euan McIntyre are all experienced and looking to take another step forward in 2020, providing Donovan with great depth in the middleweights.

Up Top (170-Hwt): Overall, this is a young, but talented group of upperweights. Among the youth is senior Luke Barlet, a 4-year starter who will provide valuable veteran leadership. Barlet has picked up some big wins when healthy for Donovan, and could be primed for a big season in his final run for the Griffins. Sophomore Dom Brogna is coming off a solid rookie season for the Griffins in which he went 18-3, and placed 3rd at Districts. Sophomore Levi Wilkins is also coming off a solid 2019, putting up 17 wins. Another sophomore, Andrew Gallegos is in the mix here, giving the Griffins the potential to have a very strong crop of upperweights.

The Griffins are a team that has a lot of talent, and a ton of potential. The key for them is going to be able to stay healthy. If they can do that, this is a team that can rack up the wins, and hang in there in the battle for B-South as well as make some noise in Sectionals.
