2021 Donovan Catholic Wrestling
You name it, the Griffins were hit by it: Graduation, injury, transfer, opt-outs... As a result, the numbers are a little light this season and with just a handful of experienced returners.
Down low, senior Nick Digiantomasso is the lone experienced returner. The 4th-year starter has put up 60 wins over his career and will be looked to provide some veteran leadership to the youngsters down low in freshmen Milan Zagar and Anthony DeCaro.
Up top, the junior combo of Levi Wilkins and Andrew Gallegos, who both enter their 3rd year in the starting lineup, will look to give DC a solid 1-2 punch in the upperweights. Wilkins is coming off a solid 2020 season in which he recorded some impressive wins over the course of his 21 win season.
In the middle, juniors Gaige Rebmann and Pat Dellane have been in the lineup since their freshman years and are looking to step up now with full time slots in the lineup. The lineup also gets a boost with the return of senior Euan McIntyre, a starter his freshman and sophomore seasons who missed almost all of last season.
With the numbers being what they are, Donovan's veterans will look towards having strong regular seasons and qualifying for the postseason tournament, while the newcomers will look to gain experience and improve with each outing.
